Película y outfit para llevar (y monocromatizar)

"[...] Because people can't bear the darkness anymore."

You know those books which you could underline every single sentence? In order to keep that quote in your brain forever, as if drawn pencil graphite had a kind of magical power or something. It would be so cool being able to do that in all aspects of life, underlining our moments, I think something like that is what photography does. Underline our songs, films, favorite pillows, food, underline everything. But not with fluorescent, we do not want to ruin the matter.

I don’t come to speak about books, nor life, nor photography, but a film that I’ve liked so much that if I don’t share it I can explode (ok, I’m exaggerating ). The thing is this film is like…It is a continuous feeling kind of: I would take each scene and I would write in my notebook to watch/read/whatever it always. It has not a special or convoluted plot, it’s simple; it’s life and it’s in black and white. We underline (as we are) this last fact, because, well, in black and white everything is more like, like, like, travelling in train.

I do not know if you’ve watched “Frances Ha”  a Noah Baumbach’s film, because the thing is that the film which I want to talk about is just like the opposite in everything which refers to the main character, but everything else is the same (if you watch it you will understand what I’m saying). Okay, here we go, enough of introduction, the name of this movie is: “A coffee in Berlin (Oh Boy)" (2013). It is directed by Jan Ole Gerster, being this film his first wonder (because yes, this film is a wonder).

The plot comes down to a young twentyish from Berlin, Niko (Tom Schilling), and his day in the city, going through a series of events (with the humor that only a German film in black and white could has) accompanied by very interesting and picturesque characters and playing with the impossible made to get a coffee until the end of the film. Anyway, you can read what the plot is about in the web, it’s better to see it. I prefer to speak about the feeling this film leaves.

"Oh Boy' it is more than a film. It is [...] a mood, a ghostly and heartfelt reflection of who we are or, at least, than we were at some moment. "

I think that review defines everything perfectly. Indeed, it is that, it's a state of mind accompanied by a truly minimalist touch which it’s actually just a surface as our protagonist is full of melancholy, a touch of loneliness, failure, disorientation, but sympathy in turn. All accompanied by a soundtrack that no particularly striking (despite being quite good) but that is essential in every second of the film. In the end, it’s impossible not to feel empathy towards Niko, and in some cases, certain identification.

– Alfonso Armada

“The black and white helps us to think that nostalgia is more logical than the present, that the past can be understood better than the life passes before our eyes." - Alfonso Armada

http://www.filmaffinity.com/es/reviews/1/794952.html

Yes, I return to the theme of black and white because I think it gives an essential touch to this film. First, who thinks about Berlin and think in black and white? No one. I imagine Berlin is a city full of bright colors, but then comes Jan Ole Gerster and bum, as if everything were a strawberry milkshake and he swallows until there is nothing in order to accompany Niko on his journey in the best way , matching color with his cigarettes. And it is just "feel out of place", that feeling is very present in our main character and I think the monochromatic palette is what goes with it. And because of this and to talk about another topic, I decided to show you such a simple basic outfit, as all that exists. In fact, I'm going to show it in black and white, precisely because it does not depend on color, based on Niko Fischer’s look.

Ah, but before, I leave you this site because if you don’t fall in love with any of these reviews I don’t know what to do:
P.S.: except for the last pics, I don't own any of the other pictures (as it was expected)

Like everybody know, September is here (since days ago) and with it, it comes the beginning of the Autumn, of the most beautiful sunsets, of the orange and brown colours, of the fallen leaves, and of course, nuts, yum.

In this little post, I want to show you my wishlist for this season. As you can see it’s little but it’s because they are the things I really would like (love) to have, furthermore, I don’t have much money right now.

On first place, super-very-first-place, we’ve got this cord burgundy pinafore dress from Topshop. Really, I could say that I’ve fallen in love with this dress but it wouldn’t be enough. It has that beautiful color and shape that combines with a thousand styles. It was love at first sight.  Second, those silver oxfords shoes from Zara are simply perfect. I was looking forward to the golden ones from last season, but for lack of money and everything in general I didn’t buy them and I hope that this time doesn’t happen the same thing.

Then, on the other hand, also from Zara, we’ve got that small bag. I took time looking forward to a tiny white bag and that seems to have the perfect shape and I think you can give a very interesting touch to the total black looks, you know.

Also, we’ve got that Urban Outfitters pendant which looks so beautiful, so "elvish", so askldjeadjkaefk, aw, I don’t know, it’s just perfect. And finally, on the one hand we’ve got that film, “Palo Alto” ; actually I have eighty thousand movies on my wishlist, but I really want to have this one on DVD (if you want to know about the movie click here). On the other hand, the Diva lipstick from MAC (although in the picture it seems clearer), I’ve always wanted it and I think IT’S TIME. It is that color is just wonderful. And beyond these things my wishlist is based on sleep.

Hiya my lovelies, you already know how much I love cinema, so here comes Annoying Clara again to comment about some movies I've seen lately, both from 2013 (originally, I was going to talk about more, but then I decided I'd only talk about two because I tend to go on and on and on). Remember, I'm not a film critic and this is just my amateur cinephile compulsive opinion so, please, don’t throw tomatoes at me! (DO IT, I'm hungry).

The Coppola have rarely failed me (although some of their movies can be annoying). This time I'd like to speak about Palo Alto, a film by Gia Coppola. Well, first, I think the movie is something like the result of adding a bit of Skins to a documentary about teenagers, plus the "coppolistic" touch of The Virgin Suicides to the image; all of this properly fused, and voilà, we have the film! Let's also add a brilliant soundtrack, the kind of songs that you listen to and think "I’m going to turn off the light and dance!" (with neon lights and a slow nod). Personally, I liked it a lot. It isn’t an excellent movie, but it has "something". I suppose it's the cineography which I'm crazy about, and also that I've fallen in love with one of the main characters (Teddy) who even appears in a wolf costume like my beloved Max from Where the Wild Things Are. I also think the film is natural, frivolous (no, that's not the word) and portrays teenagers quite well (there aren’t actors who are playing teenagers at 30, and I think that influences a lot)... It represents the life of adolescent teens really well in general. I don’t even think the movie has a protagonist! It was supposed to be April (Emma Roberts) but each character has a certain importance that describes an attitude, a personality, and thus becomes essential. Well, I'll stop talking now - I'm getting repellent! I just want to say that, in my opinion, it’s a good debut for Gia Coppola.

On the other hand, How I live now, a Kevin Macdonald movie which I can only define as "weird", but not in a "weird and beautiful movie that make you say OH" way, just weird because it mixes several different things and it's like, BANG BANG, what is this!? The plot is set in the midst of a third world war in the immediate future, but, despite that, what really matters in the film is that it's supposed to be the love story between the protagonist and a guy who is her cousin (HER COUSIN). Also, the main character annoys me. Seriously. I think she’s nasty, mean, I don't know what’s going on with her. During the film there's a voice-over who seems to chase the girl (and other people) and, in the beginning, it appears that the voice is coming from a past that the protagonist has suffered, and I thought that maybe it was that, but things aren't clear at all...

Anyway, the children who appear in the movie are adorable, as are the wonderful English landscapes, and the photography is pretty interesting (some scenes reminded me of Wes Anderson's style). There are also some slightly violent images that break the mould of the movie, and, in a way, it's okay, but I don’t know... In the end, everything seems a bit mediocre. I read somewhere someone saying that the end "seems an excuse to let us know why the film has the name it has" and that's absolutely right. I won't tell you the end, neither the plot, because, despite not being very good, I found it entertaining, especially for teenagers. I haven't seen The Hunger Games, but perhaps it's a bit like this. Translation: watch it and love the little redhead girl and the boy with the glasses who looks like Wendy's brother from Peter Pan. C’est tout.

September nights: a little haul (and Short Term 12).

Hiya my lovelies! September has come, well, it arrived ten days ago, but I have a complex with posting late or something like that. Last week, I spent five days in Madrid to disconnect from Granada, and, well, in this post I wanted to show you some things I bought (along with others from Primark in Malaga). The truth is that what I actually bought the most were books because TCHANTCHANTCHAAAN in Madrid, there's one of my favourite bookshops: La Central, and I just love it (I think it's the wooden floor they have).

First, we have this wonderful, lovely, adorable, tiny black & white handbag with gold metal details. It’s from Primark and it was only 11€! It's so nice that I can’t stop looking at it, and it's useful both to wear as a casual look and to go out and... awwww it's so askdasjeakse. In Primark I also bought some Mary Jane heels. I've seen this style a lot this summer at stores like Topshop or Zara, but I didn't want to spend too much money because I knew that I don’t wear these kind of shoes so much. But I saw these in Primark for €18 (it says Limited Edition on the label) and, when I tried them on, I discovered how comfy they were and thought that they could give a different touch to some party outfit, so I couldn't resist.

Then, in Madrid, in Brandy Melville, I had to stop myself from buying too many things. I bought two little dresses, let me show you one. It's just so nice with a "naif" touch, very cool for the summer heat and ideal for autumn if you wear it with a long cardigan or something. It's extremely comfy and has a very sweet touch. In Topshop, I found these closed sandals. They were on sale so they just cost €15. The truth is that they look like a primary school teacher, but look great with everything. The only bad thing is that my feet aren''t used to wearing these kind of shoes and it causes a few scratches. I have to put a cream on them or something to soften.

Moving away from all the haul stuff, I wanted to tell you about a movie I watched in the cinema when I was in Madrid. I was wandering alone and didn’t know what to do, so I found this by chance. It's called "Short term 12" and is directed by Destin Cretton. At first I thought it was going to be a drama with a usual plot about a marginal center or something, but I don't know. The film has something which made it simply pretty (or I was just sensitive that day). The dramatic tone of this kind of film can be very dull, but this one has an honest touch, simple (but not crappy), natural, somehow touching, but not melodramatic. Each character (not just the main character) gives you "something". I totally recommend it! Also, it has a beautiful soundtrack (listen here!). That’s all for today.

P.S.: Pictures that aren't gifs are from the film.
P.S.2: Please, take me to the London Fashion Week.
