September nights: a little haul (and Short Term 12).

Queridos míos, septiembre ha llegado, bueno, llegó hace diez días, pero tengo complejo de ir con retraso o algo así. La semana pasada pasé unos cinco días en Madrid para desconectar un poco de Granada y, bueno, en este post quería enseñaros algunas compras que hice (junto con otras en Primark, Málaga). Lo cierto es que lo que en realidad compré en exceso fueron libros porque CHANCHANCHÁN, mi querida librería La Central está allí, y simplemente me encanta (yo creo que es el suelo de madera que tienen, que enamora).

Hiya my lovelies! September has come, well, it arrived ten days ago, but I have a complex with posting late or something like that. Last week, I spent five days in Madrid to disconnect from Granada, and, well, in this post I wanted to show you some things I bought (along with others from Primark in Malaga). The truth is that what I actually bought the most were books because TCHANTCHANTCHAAAN in Madrid, there's one of my favourite bookshops: La Central, and I just love it (I think it's the wooden floor they have).

En primer lugar, tenemos este maravilloso, precioso, adorable, pequeñito bolso blanco y negro con detalles metálicos dorados, de Primark, que me costó nada más que unos magníficos 11€. Es tan bonito que no puedo dejar de mirarlo, y sirve tanto para salir de casual como para salir más "vestida", como para todo, ya está, es que es que es que, aish, ¡es tan askdasjeakse! En Primark también me compré estos tacones Mary Jane, cuyo estilo he visto este verano en tiendas como Topshop o Zara, pero no me quería gastar mucho dinero puesto que sabía que no me los iba a poner a menudo... así que cuando vi estos en Primark por 18€ (edición limitada ponía en la etiqueta) y me los probé, y descubrí lo cómodos que eran, pensé que podrían darle un toque distinto a algún conjunto para salir de fiesta, y no pude resistirme.

First, we have this wonderful, lovely, adorable, tiny black & white handbag with gold metal details. It’s from Primark and it was only 11€! It's so nice that I can’t stop looking at it, and it's useful both to wear as a casual look and to go out and... awwww it's so askdasjeakse. In Primark I also bought some Mary Jane heels. I've seen this style a lot this summer at stores like Topshop or Zara, but I didn't want to spend too much money because I knew that I don’t wear these kind of shoes so much. But I saw these in Primark for €18 (it says Limited Edition on the label) and, when I tried them on, I discovered how comfy they were and thought that they could give a different touch to some party outfit, so I couldn't resist.

Luego, en Madrid, en Brandy Melville, tuve que resistirme a no comprarme más cosas de la cuenta. Me compré dos vestidillos y aquí os enseño uno de ellos, es sencillo y bonito, con un toque naif, muy fresquito para el verano e ideal para el otoño si lo llevas con un cárdigan o algo largo, es comodísimo y tiene un toque muy dulce. Por otro lado, en Topshop encontré estas sandalias de estilo cangrejera, de rebaja y costaban tan solo 15€. La verdad es que parecen de profesora de guardería, pero quedan muy bien con todo, lo único malo es que mi pie aún no se ha acostumbrado y me hacen rozaduras, tengo que echarles cremita o algo para ablandarlas.

Then, in Madrid, in Brandy Melville, I had to stop myself from buying too many things. I bought two little dresses, let me show you one. It's just so nice with a "naif" touch, very cool for the summer heat and ideal for autumn if you wear it with a long cardigan or something. It's extremely comfy and has a very sweet touch. In Topshop, I found these closed sandals. They were on sale so they just cost €15. The truth is that they look like a primary school teacher, but look great with everything. The only bad thing is that my feet aren''t used to wearing these kind of shoes and it causes a few scratches. I have to put a cream on them or something to soften.

 

Quitando todo este rollo del haul, quería hablaros de una película que vi en el cine cuando estuve en Madrid. Me metí de casualidad porque estaba sola dando vueltas y no sabía qué hacer. Se llama “Las vidas de Grace (Short term 12)” y está dirigida por Destin Cretton. Al principio pensaba que iba a ser un drama de un centro de estos marginales o algo así, pero no sé, la película tenía algo (o bien yo estaba sensible ese día) que la hacía bonita, sencillamente. Las películas de este tono dramático pueden llegar a ser muy espesas, pero esta tiene un toque honesto, simple (pero no cutre), natural, es algo conmovedora pero no melodramática, y cada personaje por secundario que sea, te deja con "algo". Yo la verdad es que la recomiendo, además, tiene una banda sonora muy bonita (¡escúchala aquí!). Y... eso es todo por hoy.

Moving away from all the haul stuff, I wanted to tell you about a movie I watched in the cinema when I was in Madrid. I was wandering alone and didn’t know what to do, so I found this by chance. It's called "Short term 12" and is directed by Destin Cretton. At first I thought it was going to be a drama with a usual plot about a marginal center or something, but I don't know. The film has something which made it simply pretty (or I was just sensitive that day). The dramatic tone of this kind of film can be very dull, but this one has an honest touch, simple (but not crappy), natural, somehow touching, but not melodramatic. Each character (not just the main character) gives you "something". I totally recommend it! Also, it has a beautiful soundtrack (listen here!). That’s all for today.

"Un día, tres otoños", y un pequeño haul.

¡Feliz navidad! Soy una mala bloguera que no actualiza todas las semanas, pero bueno, aquí estoy. ¿Cómo van vuestras vacaciones? Las mías como unas vacaciones normales y corrientes, con mucho frío y mantas, y abrigos oversize para recorrer la ciudad. Ayer pasé el día en Málaga, y aproveché para hace algunas compras en el Primark (el cual no vi casi nada que me gustase) y en la Fnac, y en  librerías, y fui a ver la exposición de paisajes de los naturalistas a los vanguardistas (con un Van Gogh, ay) y también fui al cine a ver “La Grande Bellezza” (la última película italiana, casi parece la Dolce Vita del siglo XXI) y en fin, muchas cosas. En este post os vengo a enseñar algunas de mis nuevas adquisiciones.

Happy Christmas! I'm a bad blogger who doesn’t update every week, but hey, I'm here. How are your holidays going on? Mine are as ordinary holidays, with too much cold and blankets, and oversize coats to hang around the city. Yesterday I spent the day in Malaga, and I took the opportunity to do some shopping in Primark (where I found a few things that I really liked) and in the Fnac, and in some bookstores, and I went to see the exhibition of landscapes of naturalists to the avant-garde (with a Van Gogh’s painting, aw) and also went to the cinema to watch "La Grande Bellezza" (the last Italian film that almost seems like the Dolce Vita of the XXI century) and finally, many things. In this post I come to show some of my new acquisitions.

Para empezar ese pijama que llevo ahí, os contaré la verdad, no tenía ganas de quitármelo para ponerlo en la foto de todas las cosas que había comprado, así que recién levantada decidí hacer una foto mientras bebía mi té matutino. Yo creo que ese pijama es DIOS. No, a ver, ya sinceramente, es la cosa más calentita y suave del mundo entero, tanto por dentro para disfrutar como por fuera, ya sabéis, así quien te abrace pues también lo disfruta, ay, y tan solo por 10€, de verdad, que a mí es que los pijamas del Primark me vuelven loca. Y además tiene una gomita al final de la pierna  y así no se sube, son todo ventajas, me voy a casar con él. 

To begin, that pyjama I’m wearing in that photo, I will tell the truth, I didn’t  want to take it off to put it on the picture of all the things I bought, so I decided to just take a photo when I’ve just woke up while drinking my morning tea. I think that pyjama is GOD. No, see, and honestly, is the warm and soft thing of the whole world and even better, it is soft inside and out, I mean inside for your skin and out for the people who want to hug you, aw, and only for 10 €, I think that Primark pyjamas always make me crazy. And it also has a cuff leg, so it doesn’t come up, everything are advantages, I'm going to marry this pyjama.

Y ahora, todo lo demás. Para empezar, ¿veis ese bolso de ahí? Es precioso, y burdeos, con el tamaño perfecto, también del Primark. Luego ese cuello-bufanda, también burdeos, que no tiene nada especial pero que llevaba tiempo queriendo uno y voilà. Después tenemos esos calcetines tan PERFECTOS, que son super calentitos y supe suavitos y super todo, son los super-calcetines. Y de ropa, c’est tout. Luego fui a la Fnac y se me fue la pinza, compré dos películas, una es la de “An Education” (peliculón) y otra es “One Day” que ya hablé en una vez de ella, y también allí me compré ese cuaderno de tazas taaaaaan bonito. Luego fui a Lush, y vi que estaba el Snowfairy que solo lo venden en Navidad, y yo pues claro pues lo compré porque huele a chuche y es genial y dan ganas de comerte tu brazo. Y por último, ese libro, El libro, que llevaba un año queriendo de mi escritor favorito, que hace un tiempo hablé de él, Diego Álvarez, “Un día, tres otoños”, esa compa, ese libro, fue lo mejor del mundo.  

And now, everything else. To begin, do you see that bag there? It is beautiful, and burgundy, with the perfect size, also from Primark. Next, that neck-scarf, also burgundy, which has nothing special but I wanted one for long time and voilà . Then we have those PERFECT socks that are super-warm and super-soft and super everything, I think they are the super-socks. And about clothes, c'est tout. Then I went to the Fnac and I turned mad, I bought two movies , one is “An Education” ( awesome movie ) and the other is “One Day” which I talked about it in a post, and I also bought there this notebook with mugs pattern soooo nice . Later, I went to Lush, and I saw that the Snowfairy was in stock (because is Christmas) and obviously I bought it because it smells like sweets, so good, and when you use it you want to eat your arm. And finally, that book , The book, which I wanted since a year ago and it is from my favourite writer, I talked about it some time ago, Diego Álvarez, “Un día, tres otoños” (A day, three autumns), that purchase, that book, was the best thing in the world.
